Safe use and Erection of Scaffold
Towers
Duration: 1 Day
This course is intended for anyone who has to supervise, erect,
or work from a lightweight mobile scaffold tower. It will help a
user identify when the tower is a suitable form of access, and
cover its safe erection, use and dismantling. There is a strong
practical element to this course. Delegates will have to erect
and dismantle scaffold towers. Attendees should therefore be
physically fit enough to do this and should dress appropriately.

Asbestos is the UK's biggest work related Killer. HSE advocate
that suitable training and instruction should be given to anybody who could come
into contact with asbestos at work. Essential training for anyone working in
construction, especially in refurbishment or refit projects.

It is a legal requirement for employers to give suitable
training and instruction to those who use and change abrasive wheels (grinders,
disk cutters, etc). This half day course provides adequate levels of instruction
to comply with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).

Display Screen Equipment / Workstation Assessor

For managers and users of computers at work. Employers should
assess every employee's workstation to ensure that the hours of sitting at a
computer do not cause strain on the user. Delegates will learn to set up chairs,
desks, and more critically, the PC and display to prevent bad backs, RSI, and
headaches that can so easily be avoided. At the end of the course, delegates
will have received suitable training to assess workstations in an office
environment.
First Aid

(From October 2009 this course will be three days following the changes announced by the HSE in workplace first aid training).
This course covers the practical skills needed by a nominated first aider in the modern workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

(The duration of this course will not be affected by the
changes announced by the HSE for workplace first aid training, which come into
affect in October 2009).
This course updates the first aid skills for people who need
to renew their statutory first aid at work certificate and whose existing
certificate is still valid.
